Visiting the Lesbian Herstory Archives (LHA) was such a joy. It was our first official field trip as a group, traveling together from Philly to NYC and it felt like such a meaningful step in this journey. The archives are housed in an actual home in Brooklyn, which made the experience feel deeply intimate and inviting. Like stepping into the home of an auntie who might just be a little bit of a hoarder. Every corner of the house overflowed with lesbian life: books, zines, clippings, photographs, artwork, fiber crafts, clothing; if it existed and it was lesbian, it was there.
